About
We exist because the wrong person reading the right words is still wrong.
The Ceremony Company began at our own wedding. We hired a celebrant we'd never properly met. He misspelled our names. He filled the gaps in our story with jokes that bombed, and improvised rituals that left our guests politely confused. His English was just shaky enough that half the room missed the meaning entirely.
We sat down afterwards and realised the obvious: the person who should have been up there was already in the room. A sister, a best friend, a brother — someone who knew how to say our names, knew our story, and would have meant every word. They just needed the structure, the words, and a bit of confidence to pull it off.
So we built it. A way for couples to design a ceremony that actually sounds like them. A way to prepare the friend or family member they've chosen to officiate, so they walk up there ready. And a beautiful printed booklet so guests — Portuguese, Spanish, English — can follow along.
We're a small team based in Lisbon. We've designed ceremonies in olive groves in the Alentejo, on cliffs in Sagres, and in town halls in Porto. We don't do hard sells. We don't do scripts. We believe the most personal moments of your life should be held by the most personal people in it.
"Your ceremony, led by someone who actually loves you."
